Dot Dot Dot

23 Jul

It’s easy as 1, 2, 3! Seriously, this is one of the easiest things to do. You don’t need a fancy “dotting tool” or anything, you can use a toothpick or the end of a paint brush. Have fun with it!

This design was inspired by the converse shoes of a girl on the skytrain. They were hightops that were folded down to show off the offsetting polka dot pattern.

For the big blue dots I used the back end of the paint brush and for the little white dots I used the dotting tool.

Canada Day inspired nails. It’s the perfect shade of red, very flattering on many different skin types. The red is Lambada by Gosh.

I am usually not the greatest at picking or pairing colours, but this one I really liked! It helps that I love this Mint Sorbet colour by Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear, which is still one of my favourite brands because of the ease of applications, how long it lasts, and it’s affordable price. For more on my views of different brands, take a look at my past post, Brands; I will write an updated post to include other brands that I have tried out since.

Blast From the Past

24 Jul

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted. My camera has been very finicky and so I haven’t been able to upload pictures unfortunately. Yes, this is the camera that I got only one year ago. It’s great, takes great pictures and has an amazing zoom, but I’m not happy about the glitches.

I just started part-time school, which takes up more time than expected. Another reason why it has taken me so long to get SD card reader for my laptop.

Anyways, here is the design I am most excited to show. Just a quick post since I have a midterm tomorrow and should be studying…

CARE BEAR NAILS – as suggested by my roommate, which is perfect because there are 10 original care bears!

Happy 1st Year Anniversary Nailosophy!

9 Apr

It has been a year! I’m surprised that I have been able to continue for this long. Hope to have more years to come. It’s been great seeing people’s feedback about my nail art hobby.

Happy painting!

Looking back, here are some of my favourite designs:

Trick or Treat

Hope everyone had an awesome Halloween weekend! Feels like Halloween is already over since it’s the Monday after all the parties, but it’s not over yet, still one more chance to dress up on Wednesday.

I was dressed up as…

Wait for it….

And to go with my costume, I had my Halloween nails.

This lace look can be achieved in many different ways. Freehand painting, pieces of lace, stickers, or stamps.

I went to Sally’s looking for the stamp so that I could try it out cause lace looks so nice when using the stamp, where it can be very detailed.

Freehand is very time consuming, possibly the most. I don’t know how I even had the patience to do all of my nails. Both of these were done using a thin brush, all freehand.

These pictures were taken before I applied the Top Coat.
